Popular not-for-profit Southeast Mine Safety and Health Conference is headed to Birmingham, US next month for its 14th annual volunteer-led event.
Taking place at Alabama’s Ross Bridge Hotel from 4-7 November, conference organiser’s have partnered with peers to deliver the latest in mining health and safety in order to help strengthen the industry’s core values.
With a focus on developing a safety culture in mining and tunnelling, the Southeast Mine Safety and Health Conference aims to develop an annual programme that works towards zero injuries and illnesses for personnel, whilst providing opportunities for networking with industry and regulatory representatives.
The event programme includes a roster of specialist speakers, including award winning international keynote speaker and business leader Manley Feinberg, government assistant secretary for mine safety and health David G. Zatezalo, and award-winning safety professional for the mining and construction materials industries Terry L. Tyson.
A large number of vendors and exhibitors will also be in attendance at the conference, including leading supplier of safety services and equipment to the mining and tunnelling industries Carroll Technologies.
According to Carroll sales account manager Josh Johnson: “This conference will host hundreds of manufacturers, distributors, mining personnel, and professionals all seeking one goal: to work efficiently and safely each day and minimise accidents in the workplace. This conference allows for keynote speakers to share their expertise in mining safety in both large group discussions and smaller breakout sessions as well.
“As a sponsor, this conference also allows companies such as Carroll to set up a vendor table and showcase our products to attendees. Throughout the day, guests are encouraged to visit the vendor areas, view products, ask questions, and have one-on-one conversations with vendors. Our goal is to work alongside safety professionals to provide products that will help end users be more efficient while keeping them safe.”
This year, Carroll is also hosting a special event that gives guests the opportunity to discover more about the company and the products and services they provide. “We will be located inside the main ballroom at table three,” says Johnson. “Please stop by and talk to us about how we can help to make your operation more efficient and a safer place to work. We will also be sponsoring the conference Wi-Fi code which can be used for the remainder of the week, so be sure to visit and ask one of our team members for access.”
According to the organisers: “The Southeast Mine Safety and Health Conference will partner with our peers to offer the best mining safety and health conference in order to strengthen safety and health core values.”
